Compact Workshop Space

Re imagining & building a workshop for designers as a structure that facilitates safety and ease of use, while accommodating various associated activities.

The brief was to design and build a workstation as a 2m x 1m module using 3cm x 3cm aluminium extrusion as framework.
Planks made up the main work surface and the additional pull-out desk, around which components were arranged based on reach and ease of use.
Wooden battens were used to articulate the pegboards – lighter tools on top, heavier ones on two slidable panels in the bottom – as well as handles for the trays and drawer below.
A clipboard and a swing-out marker board allow for work reference, pipes with a sorting strap accommodate the material inventory.

The module was constructed out of Aluminium (2.5 x2.5 cm) sections and wooden panels.
